On this occasion I will share a tutorial on how to Install WordPress Plugins and how to set widgets, as an example that I will install in this tutorial is Recent Posts Widget Extended plugin, this plugin is used to display the last Post in sidebar accompanied by thumbnail.
First, click the Plugins menu -> Add New, then type the plugins name Recent Posts Widget Extended. As the picture below, then searching and install then activate.
Once you have finished installing and activating the plugins go straight to the next tutorial that is Set Up Widgets.

The trick is to click the menu Apearance - Widgets and then drag widgets from the left column to Primary Sidebar. Maybe if using another theme it will be different name less, but the core of the way is the same. See the following picture:

note: if you want to remove widgets then drag widgets live to be removed then drag to the left column and release. if want to install, then vice versa.
the next step is to set widgets Recent Posts Widget Extended. follow as shown below:
