Technological developments increasingly advanced in all sectors. Almost all institutions have website pages, even people personally also have a good website in the form of blogs and websites. In order to access the website needed network that can connect between our data with the client. You will be left behind if you can not follow the rapid technological advances. There are many terms on the internet such as hosting and domains.
In this post I want to give a little explanation but understanding the hosting and domain. So, consider carefully so you do not feel foreign to the terms of hosting and domain.

Understanding Hosting
Hosting is an internet-based service as a place of data storage or place running an application in a central place called a server and can be accessed through the internet network. Types of use vary by need, from hosting to: Web (for storage and website applications via http port), Email (for email data centers), FTP (for file transfer) to VPN.

Built on a server or a large capacity computer and reliable stored in the data center, equipped with cooling systems and devices that can work continuously for 24 hours every day. This server is also equipped with high-speed internet connection in order to process all the data requests from clients.

There are many hosting specifications, but some important ones are:

- Space / hosting capacity: This is the amount of data you can put on the hosting. The size is Megabytes, Gigabytes, Terabytes
- Bandwidth or amount of data transfer quota per month. The size is Megabytes / month, Gigabytes / month, Gigabytes / month. This bandwidth is reset to zero every month.
- Number of databases: This is the determination of the number of databases that you can create / put on the hosting

- Number of domain addons: Number of other domains you can add to hosting
- Number of email accounts: The number of email accounts that you can create
Understanding Domains

Domain is a unique name given to identify the address (IP address) of a computer server such as a web server or email server on the internet.

Domains provide the ease of Internet users to access the server and make it easier to remember servers visited than to remember a series of IP Address numbers.

Domains have several levels, namely:

1. Top Level Domain is a row of words behind a domain name like
    .com (dotcommercial)
    .net (dotnetwork)
    .org (dotorganization)
    .edu (doteducation)
    .gov (dotgoverment)
    .mil (dotmilitary)
    .info (dotinfo)
     etc
There are two kinds of Top Level Domains, the Global Top Level Domain (gTLD) and Country Code Top Level Domain (ccTLD). GTLD is like in the list above and ccTLD is a TLD that is destined for each country, such as Indonesia with code ID (co.id, net.id, or.id, web.id) or Malaysia with the code MY (com .my, net.my, etc.).
2. Second Level Domain (SLD) is the domain name you registered.
3. Third Level Domain is the name after Second Level Domain. For example the domain name you have is domainku.com, then you can add another name before my domain, ie mail.domainku.com or estrex.domainku.com.
As for services that sell third-level domain one of them is enom with: .us.com, .br.com, .cn.com, and so on. Or a free one like co.cc, cz.cc.
